Default Philippines Medical Costs

Until recently, Manila - the capital of the Philippines - was also the hub of medical tourism, with some of the country’s most exclusive hospitals and centers located in the heart of the city. Asian Hospital, Capitol Medical Centre, Philippine Heart Centre and the National Kidney and Transplant Centre are among the internationally renowned centers for medical treatment in the city. Today, however, visitors have a large choice of destinations all offering equally high standards of care but often at far more picturesque locations.

Artery bypass procedures cost about US$10,000, almost half the price of that in any hospital in a developed country. Kidney transplants are priced at US$60,000, a saving of more than half compared to Western prices. Cosmetic surgery such as liposuction can be found for as little as US$3,000, while dental procedures such as a complete set of denture implants will set you back less than US$500.

I see that the Philippines is fast becoming popular in terms of medical tourism I think that would be good for the economy.

Absolutely correct! I remember my friend's dad had his operation here in Ph, and when he come back to USA, he let the USA doctor see the operation and then USA doctor said, well done. My friend's dad so proud of us, Filipino and he save thousands of dollars on that operation.

Quality of work and affordability are two of the causes why foreigners choose to be confined in our country than anywhere else. The Philippines is known to have high-quality doctors who are very meticulous. Also, the price is relatively low as compared to Western countries offering the same operation.

YES. I have the same experience. My cousin who is in States had her braces for 2000 USD. That's definitely more expensive than 2000php. I believe medical and dental services in the Philippines are reliable because Filipino doctors are very careful when they're performing the procedures.

P2000 for braces? My friend had her braces for P25K which is approximately US$500. Let's put things in proper perspective and not compare USD with PhP based on nominal figure. We should consider currency exchange.

I stand corrected. 2000PHP for her retainers only. Plus almost 25k for everything else.
