Filipinos are a generally happy people. We love to laugh and poke fun at ourselves. In times of crisis, our advantage is that we get to see the light in everything and just cruise on happily.
Because of this love for laughter, joy, and de-stressing, comedy bars began proliferating. These places offer a place of refuge and fun especially on very hectic days.
In comedy bars, people get to poke fun about everything. From politics, entertainment, to the very audience in the bar, no one is spared. That is why coming to a comedy bar, one need not be so serious or else leave the place in a "pikon" state of mind.
Kindly share the comedy bars you have visited and the tales you've had while there. :)

I've been to one comedy bar but its not popular. Clownline. It's in Taytay, the folks there are very funny and they can sing too! The most popular I know is Clowns managed by our very own Allan K. So if ever you want to have a nice laugh just go there. But be wary they will be making fun of you so be a sport.

I've been to Punchline and I must say they are hilarious! I particularly like watching Vice Ganda because beyond the wisecracks are actually intelligent observations of the people and events happening all around.
What I couldn't get over is that apart from being really great comedians, the people in punchline have really powerful singing voices! No wonder they can really make fun of people who try to sing there (in Tagalog comedy bar language, make fun is known as "okray").

I've been to 22nd Street in Antipolo. I guess that was 2 years ago hehe :D
It was fun, but really, if you want to go to comedy bars, you must be a good "sport." Just laugh it off or better yet, don't sit near the stage hehe. :D

At and With. Being in comedy bars means that you are prepared to be laughed AT and you have to laugh WITH them. It's nothing personal, stand up comedians don't know the whole lot about you. So you don't have to take things personal.

Metrobar at West Avenue Quezon City is one comedy bar that is fun to go. The comedians/comediennes are stuffed with funny songs, exaggerated stories to elicit wonders and laughter. Be sure not to have your mouth full when the monologue starts for you would certainly choke on a burst of laughter. What a like is the medium of communications is mostly Tagalog.
I think a comedy bar is a good place to go if you want to leave your worries away. Comedians will really try their best to get the laughter out of you. I would want to go to a comedy bar when I already have the time.
