Almost every mall is a wifi zone already. It's not hard looking for free wifi now. :) I also discovered that airports have free wifi too.

As for universities, some universities require the students to register their laptop before getting access to the wifi connection. It's the case in Ateneo. I guess it's to prevent other people from using the service. Students do pay a good amount for it anyway, so why let others use it for free. :D

Aside from universities, there are also establishments that requires a person to register first before they can use it. I think it is also fair enough because c'mon not everyhting is free. You also have to spend a little sometimes....

I agree. Besides, if they make it free-for-all, the system tends to slow down. So I don't really have a problem with establishments charging a little extra for their wifi.

Gloria Jeans at the Fort! We've been hanging out there for years.
The same goes for Starbucks at the 4/F of Eastwood Mall, McDonald's/McCafe at Eastwood, and Mc Donald's/McCafe at Greenbelt facing AIM.

Just get a smart bro prepaid, partner with an Asus EEPC or any 10-inch netbook and the whole city becomes your massive wifi zone!

Imagine paying only 30 pesos/hr vs. 100 bucks for a 1 hour wifi card in some coffee shops. Now that's awesome.:)
