I actually have a good amount of friends from the Philippines and they always tell me how much fun it is over there. What I especially want to try is the kare-kare (ox tail in peanut sauce). I was surprised to learn how similar certain words were in the Philippino language to Spanish.

For example I hear that Lechon is their big roasted pork which we also use in the Dominican Republic and we even share Longganissa (Sausage)! I mean I love it in my country and I hear there is a lot of beautiful natural wild life that is exclusive to the Philippine islands as well.

Though I have never been there I would love to go and its definitely on my check list of places to go!

You have a lot of places and adventures to choose from. Just browse through. I'm pretty sure one trip won't be enough. Some foreigners fall in love with the Philippines they even retire to this place!

Try our very own ADOBO! :) On your visit here. Try riding a jeep but avoid the places that there are heavy traffic. ^^

There are a lot of Spanish words that are now being used by Filipinos. Not know that it is originally from the Spanish Language.

If you don't mind the crowd, it's great to spend Christmas here as well! Lots of events everywhere, very colorful, lots of bazaars, plus it's a looong celebration (September to January). Otherwise, January and Febuary are breat times, too. It's not too warm and it's off-peak season so you get a lot of cheaper deals in accomodations.

Go get a plane. Philippines is worth the visit. There are lots of people to meet. Filipinos/Filipinas are very hospitable. The food is great, really great. Philippine food has almost the touch of every culture because of its rich history. So, you don't really have to leave your country when you go here. Whatever you eat there, more likely there's something like that food in the Philippines, only that it has the touch of Pinoy. :D

While Kare-kare is believed to be a dish from Pampanga, it comes in many versions and tastes as you trip from province to province of the Philippines.

Thus, visiting the Philippines for Kare-kare alone would certainly take your presence and palate for a unique connoisseurship.
