Some of us go to school, some of us to work.
Most of the time, I eat out. But sometimes I prefer to have my own baon particularly when I'm craving for home made food.
I do not have the luxury of having family members that could cook baonfor me. So if ever I would want to bring one, I should find time to cook it in advance before I go out.
Do you have some easy to do baon recipes which I could try?
My favorite baon is shanghai and adobo with egg. What's yours?

i used to go to work with packed lunch with me..
my favorite is my mom's version of adobong baboy with beancurd. :D the taste is actually different from the 'real adobo' - ingredients are not the same.. but the way it is cooked is basically the same. :D

I would want my wife to prepare a packed lunch for me.
She cooks good and of course it saves a lot of money.
Sigh the thing is she doesn't want to :(

what's a beancurd? What are the other vegetables that could be added to adobo. I want to try a healthy twist to my usual adobo.:)

There was a time when my friend and I would take turns in preparing baons so that we could same time...perhaps money as well. Plus the fact you get to taste viands prepared by other people!
What I usually do is buy prepared chicken from magnolia chicken station in the grocery (for instance, lumpia). I'd just have to place it in lumpia wrapper and fry it. Or I would go for tocino. It's easy to cook and not much hassle.
When I have more time I cook "Monglian" rice. Just mix some beef strips, chicken strips, squid balls, carrots, cabbage, bell pepper on to your rice. It's best to cook the meats first. More ginger, more flavor. Use oyster sauce and any other seasonings you wish. You can cook a big batch of this and put some in your ref. you can reheat for dinner or lunch a day afer tomorrow.
The safest bet for baon is adobo. Haha!

Its true bringing baon to work or school saves us money. Thing is preparing it also takes time. If you don't have the luxury of time to prepare it and you want to save money, try eating in a carenderia. Although I understand the situation in Manila, carenderia rates there are as good as fast food. But if you're in other cities, I think carenderia will do good as long as you're sure the food prepared is clean. :-)

Although I'm self employed now and usually work at home I experienced being an employee before and I can say that it is more practical to bring your own baon and I was able to save a lot by doing that. I am also sure that the food I get to eat was clean and safe.:)
