Whenever Filipinos visit places, they make sure they buy something for their loved ones when they get back home.

If I visit your place/hometown, what 'pasalubong' can you recommend?

To start with, if you plan to visit my hometown in Nueva Vizcaya, don't forget to try our sweet and juicy Perante oranges.:)

Taytay.

Well. To be honest there's no trademark food here. But what I can assure you is that Pinoys in Taytay do love kwek kwek (egg coated in an orange skin). Not really a pasalubong type of food as they tend to get dry and lose its crunchiness.

Well, my dad is from Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. There's yummy pastillas from Aying's and another one at the back of the gas station near the church. Both are made from Carabao's milk. As for Aying's pastillas de leche, you won't get disappointed coz it's as big as the wrapper. As for the nameless one, well, it's sooo creamy!!! I could finish a handful in a sitting. My mom even brings this abroad coz our relatives love it.

I love pastillas de leche... where exactly can we find Aying's? We do take the Cagayan Valley road going to Nueva Vizcaya. Any branch from that route?

Wow, can we have a share of it too?...just kidding...
If I may ask, is inasal the same as inato?

And, may I know what napoleones is? :)

kwek kwek is quail egg? or the regular eggs that we cook for breakfast?

Iligan City

We have sukang pinakurat (vinegar with spices in it). Pinakurat-sulop is also famous hear. It is a fresh meat of wild boar cooked in sukang pinakurat.

But the Iligan's Pride is always Cheding's Toasted Peanuts. Everytime I visit my aunts in other places, they always ask me to bring Cheding's Toasted peanuts.

The most famous pasalubong in our town is Pastillas de leche made of carabao milk. This is from Zambales. Really love the taste. yummy. Now, I'm living in Laguna and there are a lot of pasalubong to choose from. From buko pie, to kesong puti and a lot more. The most famous buko pie house is "The Original then we have "letys buko pie" which is also really nice.

Well, I actually live in Quezon City so we really have a hodge podge of stuff you can buy. But native to QC area, these are what I think you should try:

1) Kookay's Vanilla Bars - located in Fairview QC. It's one of the moistest, creamiest bars you'll find with a surprise crunch from the walnuts inside

2) Estrel's Caramel Cakes - located in the Scout Area in QC (not sure if it's Tobias). Also soft, airy, not too sweet and looks really delicate with all the signature floral icing on top. Just make sure you finish it at once because it spoils fast

3) Dulcelin's Mango Torte Cake - located somewhere in Quezon Ave, this is a must for mango addicts. Frozen mango balls on top of whipped cream and a crunchy cashew base. One Filipino word to describe it is "SARAP!"

Well, that's it for my hometown!

the best pasalubong that a kapampangan can give is the sansrival of OCAMPO-LANSANG its not just the common red ribbon or goldilocks thing it is stuffed with confectionaries that will really make you crave for it. it is not that commercialized compared to big bake shops that is why there is always more to expect in every box of sansrival..

it is located in sta rita guagua pampanga... try it!:)

I thought the most famous buko pie producer in Laguna is Collette's. Or am I getting confused here? Collette's is from Laguna or Batangas? :D

The spices in the vinegar include ginger root? Coz I remember a friend in College who hails from Antique. Whenever we visit her in her apartment, she has this vinegar with ginger roots and spices. I tasted it out of curiosity and its really good.:)

Oh yes who wouldn't know chicha corn which comes in different flavor. I like the barbecue flavor.:)

Sukang iloko is 'basi' right? Is it true that it could also be made into wine?

Tupig from pangasinan.

Oh I just love tupig! These are the sticky things that come wrapped in banana leaves and directory pages right?

If one doesn't plan to eat the tupig on site, it is best steamed on top of the rice in the rice cooker. Definitely superb!

Barquillos is a delicacy introduced by the province of Iloilo. Ingredients for barquillos are flour, sugar and milk. It is made into thin sheets of crusty flakes shaped in long hollow cylindrical form. Powdered milk is usually stuffed inside the hole to make barquillos tastier.
