Nooooooo Seabiscuit!!!

...Just kidding. I think the only way I'd eat horse meat is if someone tricked me into it. Poor horses.

Since when do horses became part of our livestock? Like pigs and cows? I wonder what PETA has to say about this.

The top eight countries consume about 4.7 million horses a year. http://www.smilies.4-user.de/include/Essen/smilie_essen_206.gif (http://www.smilies.4-user.de)

Not that I'm okay with eating horses, but it's really more of a POV, don't you think? Horse meat is as common place in Europe as cat meat is in China and dog meat is here in the Philippines.

PETA is against it; they even called Gordon Ramsay on it for promoting it in a show. I think they dumped a truckload of manure on his restaurant in London or something.

lol.

For the special tapa, I can say I have experienced eating horse made into tapa and I speak of the horse tapa here in the Philippines. It was brought by an aunt somewhere from Mindanao, and I didn't know that it was horse tapa. It was hard to chew really but it tasted good to be fair. I haven't tried again after that.

Back in HS I thought my friends were just putting one on me. They were serious.

Libertad? Isn't that near San Lazaro Hippodrome? Horse racing...betting...where does the horse go if it gets killed? Disturbing huh!

Please...not horses...sorry...=(

I wouldn't want the horse to be chopped and eaten, I couldn't think of it. Sigh Animal cruelty.

I was able to taste adobong kabayo once (yes, I was kinda tricked into eating it) and it was kinda chewy and gamey but not a thoroughly unpleasant experience.

I believe our horsey meal was courtesy of a horse who had to be taken down already after serving its time as a race horse at Sta. Ana Park. Being a very muscled horse, they had to cook it slowly adobo-style to ensure a tender meat.

I can't imagine Horses then think of food. I have seen Tapang Kabayo but I didn't taste them because I think it's gross.
I haven't tried eating them. Not even dogs or cats.

I don't know but in my opinion, the food that Filipinos eat now is getting way weirder than before. Or maybe to put it in better terms, more adventurous.

I have tried Tapang Kabayo. It's meat is kinda hard to chew. I did not eat it in purpose but just because a few friends tricked me that it was real beef. I have heard that horse meat causes stomach pain because its meat is hard to digest. I'm not really sure about that information.

On the contrary, horse meat is very similar to cow's meat. If properly sliced, it's even a bit tender. Try "tapang kabayo".
