Pansit is a popular dish for Filipinos.

I remember a foreigner friend who told me once that he went into a restaurant that seems serve an "Eat all you can Pansit"! Hehe.

Filipinos love pansit. I sometimes crave for Pansit Malabon and Pansit Canton! We even have our very own, very popular Lucky Me Pansit Canton to satisfy our cravings for it.

What is the best Pansit you have tasted so far?

Well Pancit is really one of the more popular food here in the Philippines. I could remember one Hollywood celebrity asked for this when he visited Manila to promote his movie.

I like the combination of Pancit Canton and Sotanghon, the one with black mushrooms more commonly known as "Tengang Daga" or something like that.

The combination of Pancit Canton and Sotanghon make a "Bam-i". That is how we call it here in Cebu.

Some Pancit Malabon business outlets can be found here in Cebu. And when I get the chance to be in an area where there's Pancit Malabon outlet, I make sure I wouldn't miss it.

The word pancit is derived from the Hokkien word pian i sit, which literally means something conveniently cooked fast.

Pancit Bihon is what foreigners traditionally associate with the word "pancit": they're very thin rice noodles fried with soy sauce and some citrus (kalamansi), Chinese sausage and cabbage. These are the most basic ingredients. It varies a lot depending on the recipe to be used.

Pansit is similar to Pad Thai noodles or yakisoba Japanese-style stir-fried noodles. Variations like Pancit Molo, Luglog, Palabok, Canton, Habhab, etc. it depends on the region or town you are going. I personally like Canton where ever it's from. :D

I tried one and it really tastes so good. :) Very nice to eat during cold weather. I don't know if it's pancit because it has soup in there. Maybe it is a kind of a noodle with a thick soup. Have you tried it before? :D

Oh Yeah! It's one of my favorite foods! It's so delicious! It tastes better in cold weather or when you're up for midnight snacks with your friends and/or family. We're regular Lomi buyers when my cousins stay over at our house. lol

I think this is what they call pancit cabagan. Pancit Cabagan is fresh miki noodles served with toppings of lechon kawali and mixed vegetables. Sometimes they also put quail eggs to make it more special.

Best eaten few minutes after it was cooked. If you let it stay long, it gets sticky and pasty, but the unique taste is still there.

Yep, diet later. The name of the pansit in Cagayan is pansit Cabagan. The sauce is quite dark and it has a sunny side up egg on top right? I had it while we were on a business and foodie trek in Cagayan. Quite good and best paired with an ice-cold Coca-cola. :)

If you're going south, try also the Pancit Bato. You buy a block of it for P30 and when cooked, it actually expands feeding a lot of people! It comes in egg, squash, and ampalaya flavors. We cook ours with lots of shrimp as well as cilantro for a good nice kick. :)

I think batchoy is in the realm of mami more than pancit. :) Pancit has the connotation of noodles being eaten on the dry side whereas mami are noodles eaten with soup. And batchoy being noodles submerged in soup, i guess it's mami.

And I love Lucky Me! La Paz Batchoy! :)

I really love pansit more than spaghetti =) My current pansit must-eat is that of Pat and Lee's. You don't have to add calamansi to it, as it's already full of flavor =)

Amber's pansit is also good. I don't know if they are also the ones that do pansit puti but their pansit bihon is very good. I think Amber's pansit is a staple already in almost every Makati office's food directory.

Another noteworthy pansit is Buddy's (Buddy'z) pansit habhab. This pansit instead of having the calamansi as condiment, actually uses vinegar. Really really good we even went to Makati from QC just to get a bite of it.

Celery has often been one of the ingredients in pansit but have you ever tried adding wansuy aka cilantro into your pansit? The resulting flavor is absolutely phenomenal!

We had this yesterday because my sister had excess cilantro from her mango salad and so instead of having the extra put to waste, she placed the remaining chopped cilantro into the pansit. Really delicious! Try it!

Agree! Wansuy in pansit is definitely better than kinchay!

I've been trying to search for a pancit that is eaten with vinegar. Would anyone of you happen to know one? My husband is asking me what type of pancit is that. Unfortunately, I don't know what he is referring to. =)

eventhoug pancit (noodle dish) is popular here in manila, we have to recognize that it came from our chinese ancestors / culture that they brought here in the philippine way back early 19th hundreds and definitely made a big influenced filipinos until now.

a good way also of letting kids eat vegetables.
